"It is an incredible honor and responsibility to introduce classical music to our children because it will shape and mold their heart and souls so that they grow up and become warm, caring, imaginative, and passionate individuals," said Han. "It is my sincere hope that families who come to the Family Fun Concert will have an incredibly fun and entertaining afternoon and that everyone will walk away with their brighter hearts and wider smiles. Very possibly, we may also inspire a child to become the next Mozart or Yo-Yo Ma!"

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) hosts its annual interactive family-style concert, Family Fun!, on March 26 at 3 p.m. at the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Ind. Serving as guest conductor will be former Carmel High School Music Department Chair, Soo Han.

After evaluating more than 130 applications, reviewing personal responses from 25 candidates and conducting Skype interviews with 12, the Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s (CSO) Music Director Search Committee has narrowed the field to three finalists to become the next CSO’s Music Director/Conductor. Each candidate will conduct a CSO concert cycle this spring.

Conducting the April 8 CSO performance, “Ariel & New World,” will be Janna Hymes. Janna has served as the music director for the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra of Virginia since 2004 as well as the Maine Pro Musica Orchestra that she founded in 2008.

After evaluating more than 130 applications, reviewing personal responses from 25 candidates and conducting Skype interviews with 12, the Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s (CSO) Music Director Search Committee has narrowed the field to three finalists to become the next CSO’s Music Director/Conductor. 

Conducting the March 11 CSO performance, “Tchaikovsky & Strauss,” will be Kelly Corcoran. Kelly currently serves as the Artistic Director of Intersection, a contemporary music ensemble dedicated to challenging the traditional concert experience with concerts for all ages.

After evaluating more than 130 applications, reviewing personal responses from 25 candidates and conducting Skype interviews with 12, the Carmel Symphony Orchestra's (CSO) Music Director Search Committee has narrowed the field to three finalists to become the next CSO Music Director/Conductor. Each candidate will conduct a CSO concert cycle this spring with the orchestra having significant input into the final decision regarding the next conductor/music director. Up first on February 11, 2017 at the "From Bernstein and Gershwin with Love" concert is Ron Spigelman.

Carmel Symphony Orchestra Along with Pedcor and Friends Present The Texas Tenors in a Salute to Our Veterans

Since debuting their unique blend of country, classical and pop music during the fourth season of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” The Texas Tenors have performed more than 1,000 concerts around the world, including a 24-city tour in the United Kingdom, Shanghai, China and collaborations with some of the most prestigious symphonies in the US. Later this month, the trio will debut an all-new show with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) when they return to the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel for two performances. Presented by Pedcor and Friends and honoring veterans, active military and first responders, the performances will be at 8 p.m. at the Palladium on January 27 and 28.

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) proudly announces the winner of its 2016 and 36th Young Artists Competition. 17-year-old rising pianist from Bloomington, Indiana, Gabriel Bruner, took first place honors in this year’s competition. He also was last year’s CSO Young Artists Competition runner-up.

Marc Huber Joins the Carmel Symphony Orchestra as Director of Development

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO), the 85-member Resident Orchestra at the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts, has added fundraising leader Marc Huber to their administrative team as director of development. Huber’s addition will continue to allow for the strategic support of the CSO’s mission of enhancing the community’s quality of life in a fiscally responsible manner through creative, artistically excellent performances and educational experiences for diverse audiences of all ages.

Carmel Symphony Orchestra Plays Mallow Run Winery

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will perform at Mallow Run Winery Saturday June 18, 2016 at 8 p.m. with NBC's "America's Got Talent" favorite The Texas Tenors. Columnist Bob Kravitz a Featured CSO Guest

Long-time sports columnist and TV analyst Bob Kravitz will be the featured guest for the Carmel Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts. This concert concludes the 2015-16 season, during which the CSO has celebrated its 40thanniversary.
