Join the Carmel Symphony Orchestra in “decking the halls” with joyous music on Saturday, December 12. The concert, featuring guest vocalists Cathy Berns Rund and Steve Caress, is scheduled for 3 p.m. with an encore performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Westfield High School auditorium.

The performance will feature a program of 16 holidays favorites, from “Little Drummer Boy” to “Chanukah Suites” to “White Christmas.” The concert will even feature a sing-along of traditional carols, ensuring every audience member will leave feeling the true magic of the holiday season.

“Our selection of music is really fantastic,” says David Bowden, Artistic Director for the Carmel Symphony Orchestra. “You’ll hear some traditional carols, classical arrangements such as the moving ‘Ave Maria,’ and a few surprises along the way.”

Performing with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra will be soprano Cathy Berns Rund and tenor Steve Caress. Berns Rund has performed as a soloist at the Vienna State Opera and in Monte Carlo and Oslo.  Currently, she is the music director at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon, Indiana. Caress resides in Carmel and debuted as the soloist for Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s 2009 CarmelFest Concert.  He has performed with the Allisonville Arts Series and has also been the tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah at the First Presbyterian Church of Michigan City, Indiana.

“Cathy and Steve are both great talents,” says Alan Davis, President and CEO of Carmel Symphony Orchestra. “The Carmel Symphony Orchestra has a long standing relationship with Cathy, and we’re quite excited to be bringing her back again.”
