Celebrate the Season When the Indianapolis Children’s Choir Joins the CSO for IU Health Holiday Pops
Everyone will be jolly when the Indianapolis Children’s Choir and soprano Sarah Kate Walston join the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) for IU Health Holiday Pops in two performances Saturday, December 8 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at The Palladium.
Audience members will enjoy familiar holiday music for the whole family including “White Christmas,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and “The Christmas Song.” The afternoon show is geared especially for children with a slightly abbreviated performance time, no intermission and the opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus (Ken Knowles and Ann Conrad) in the East Lobby of The Palladium.
Walston, a veteran of both musical theatre and opera, makes her first appearance at The Palladium in this holiday performance. The native of Richmond, Virginia grew up singing in the church choir, received both undergraduate and graduate degrees in music performance and is on the voice faculty for Virginia Commonwealth University. She also occasionally performs as a guest artist with her husband’s band, J-Roddy Walston and the Business.
“There’s something for everyone of all ages — our IU Health Holiday Pops concerts are filled with a variety of audience favorites and traditional holiday music,” says Executive Director Kimberly Dimond. “I am looking forward to being part of Carmel Symphony’s wonderful holiday tradition! I invite everyone to join in the fantastic history of sharing the wonder and joy of the season with these concerts, a truly great way to kick off the season with family and friends.”
