Deadline for Entry August 17!
A new season means some exciting changes to Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s 2018-19 Young Artist Competition. Our newly added concert on November 18, 2018 will feature a side-by-side with the Carmel High School Symphony Orchestra and the winner of the Young Artist Competition at the Palladium. We believe moving the Young Artist performance to an educational program with an older audience base will provide a more positive experience for our competition winner.
Competition information with specific application requirements and an online application can be found on the CSO website; the deadline for entry is August 17, 2018 with finals taking place on Sunday, September 9, 2018 (1:00-4:00 pm). Additional rules and an online link to the registration will be available on our website in May. In an effort to streamline the process, please note that the registration will only be ONLINE this year. Registration info, mp audio recordings, pdf scores and payment will only be accepted online.
The CSO Young Artist Competition is sponsored by the Carmel Symphony Orchestra League and affords student musicians from the State of Indiana the opportunity to compete with their peers at the highest level of artistic excellence. The winner receives a cash prize and performs his/her concerto accompanied by the Carmel Symphony Orchestra, as well as have the experience of performing in The Palladium at The Center for the Performing Arts.
