Emily Yin
Emily Yin is a section violinist in the Carmel Symphony Orchestra and violin teacher. As a teacher, she teaches lessons and group classes at the Indianapolis Suzuki Academy, as well as at Bach to Rock Fishers.
She holds a Master of Music in Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois, and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Indiana University. Previous orchestral engagements include the Illinois Symphony Orchestra as a sub musician and the Bay View Music Festival as Principal Second Violin.
Emily also enjoys playing jazz, and has previously performed with the Moth Mainstage on jazz violin. She incorporates jazz improvisation in her teaching as well, as well as blending improvisation with music students bring in their own interest.
Emily enjoys running, playing duos with her pianist husband, playing in her church’s music ministry, and watching Nature on PBS.
