Mingzi Han

Mingzi Han started playing Double Bass in 2011. She holds her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing, China, where she studied with Henry Chen. After graduating from China, Mingzi started a Master’s degree in Double bass at Indiana University studying with Kurt Muroki. Mingzi will be continuing her education this fall,  starting her doctoral degree in Musical Arts at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Mingzi has been taking lessons with different teachers such as Larry Hurst,  Paul Ellison, Scott Dixon, Jeff Turner, and Ju-Fang Liu. She won the second prize in the orchestra excerpt competition at Louisiana Bass Festival in 2023.
